ABM performs a series of tests on the battery to check for any imperfections or
irregularities. This includes:

  • 01  Reverse testing

  • 02  Short circuit testing- If there’s an issue, the system itself will kick the battery out

  • 03  Total Quality Management (TQM)

  • 04  Sheer testing- The quality of the weld is tested and a tag is placed if the test is passed

  • 05  Heat sealing - The lid and container are heated then fixed together

  • 06  Leak testing - The battery is tested for leakages

  • 07 Serializing - The battery is given a serial number for traceability

Sourcing old batteries
  • •ABM’s team of dealers actively source for old vehicle batteries from within communities

  • •The Chloride Exide team and their dealers offer to buy back old batteries

Recycling old batteries
  • At RREAL, the batteries are separated into lead and plastic

  • • Lead is re-smelted and used to produce new batteries

  • • The plastic is recycled to produce new casings
